Anger Management: Part 3, Dino-sore

Lupus’s body ached. Bruises covered him entire body, and his sore joints protested every time he moved. He had just been returned to his cage after his week with Emery, and she had been unhappy about giving him up. Eventually Ruby, the blonde female scientist, had had to assure Emery that the wolf would be returned to her very soon, but for now he was needed for other purposes.
As the wolf lay in his there in pain, he heard footsteps coming towards his cage. Eventually they stopped and a pretty face looked in, Ruby. The wolf whined and tried to back away from the cage door, but Ruby just smiled.
“Good morning,” she said cheerfully “I bet your body’s really aching, huh? But I’ve got just the thing you need.”
She reached into her pocket and drew out a long syringe filled with a dark green liquid. Then, smiling all the while, opened the cage door and grabbed the wolf. He tried to struggle, but his body didn’t have the energy, his weak efforts to attack were simply ignored as the needle was plunged into his side and the fluid injected.
Instantly he became drowsy. His vision blurred and his head spun. Ruby dropped him to the floor and his legs simply collapsed under him, leaving him stranded and at her mercy. She bent down to his ear.
“When you wake up, this syringe should have made you a bit more active. We need you to help us test a series of new inventions that we’re trying out on some creatures, and trust me when I say that you’re going to need your wits about you.”
With that she stood and motioned to someone just out of Lupus’s vision. As he slipped into unconsciousness, he felt a hand grab him by the scruff of the neck roughly and lift him up, then blackness took him.
~~~
Lupus floated back to consciousness quickly, taking only a few moments to get his mind in order before he opened his eyes.
He was disoriented for a moment by his surroundings. Lush green trees and thick bush surrounded him, and in the distance he could hear the trickling of water, surely they hadn’t let him go?
His hopes were crushed when he noticed the soil underfoot that he was very familiar with, after having the chance for many a close inspection, and the glint of silvery metal walls beyond the trees.
He stood and examined his surroundings more closely, noticing that the aches and pains had disappeared and that his body felt full of energy, then noticed Ruby. She was dressed in a strange sort of safari outfit and leaned against one of the metal walls of the chamber, clipboard in hand, watching him intently.
Fury surged up within Lupus. He started to sprint towards her, snapping and baying with rage, his muscles recharged and his body fresh. He closed the distance between them quickly, but his mind tried to tell him to stop. He ignored the warning and rushed towards his enemy, murder in his eyes.
A large weight suddenly pressed down on his back. He yelped as he was pushed into the hard dirt, the distance between him and Ruby little more than a meter. He struggled desperately, but the weight pinned him to the ground.
Ruby smiled and advanced, then patted some unseen creature above the wolf.
“Go on boy,” she whispered to it, “introduce yourself to the nice wolfie”
The weight on Lupus’s back was lessened for a second, and something pushed him forcefully in the side. He was rolled onto his back against his will, then froze at what he saw.
The creature that stood above him was just a bit smaller than Valhalla had been, but was much bulkier. Whereas Valhalla had been mostly muscle, this thing looked like it was made completely of fat. Its belly sagged down to its knees, and its legs were doubled in thickness just by layers of fat that clung to them. The whole picture was one of a large, morbidly obese lizard.
“This is Rollie.” Ruby said, “He’s our resident Triceratops. Unfortunately he doesn’t get much exercise, so he’s quite large and bulky, but that’s kinda normal for a Triceratops anyway.” She smiled and patted him on the head. In response, he started to bounce up and down happily, squashing the wolf’s stomach. “He’s not very bright compared to some of the other cloned dinosaurs we have around the place, so we’re testing out a device that should make him be able to interpret and follow any orders I give him. Let’s try something simple. Rollie, Squash Lupus!”
The dino’s eyes instantly lit up in response. It turned to look down at Lupus, a dark glare on its face, then picked him up by the scruff of the neck and threw him, hard, into the metal wall, where the force of the collision made him stick.
The impact knocked the breath from Lupus’s lungs, but did nothing to squash him. He thought something had gone wrong for a moment, but then noticed the reflection on the metal wall. He gasped in horror and tried to pull himself off the wall, but was not quick enough.
The dinosaur slammed into the wolf using his side, smooshing him against the wall so that it looked like the triceratops was merely leaning against it, then pulling itself away from the wall. As he did so, a very flattened white wolf fell off the side of the dinosaur’s belly and floated to the ground.
“Very good, Rollie!” Lupus heard Ruby say, delight ringing on every word. “Now, pull him further away from the wall, then wait or him to re-inflate.”
Instantly, Lupus felt the dino’s jaws close around the back of his already-reforming neck, and pull him towards the sound of the voice. Eventually he was dropped amongst a small thicket of trees, and was allowed to fully recuperate.
Once he had done so, he lay on the ground, panting, with Rollie standing over him as a guard. Eventually Ruby was satisfied that he was ready to continue.
“Ok Rollie, now we’re going to try a non-verbal order.” She said.
She made a complex gesture with her hands, and Rollie stood there, looking stumped. Despite himself, Lupus started to smirk at Ruby’s failure, letting out a low snigger. Ruby clenched her teeth and tried again, but to no avail, the dinosaur continued to stand there, mystified, as the wolf’s snigger turned into a low, horse laugh.
The blonde scientist fumed now, making frantic gestures which had Rollie stumped and Lupus rolling with laughter. After a while she sighed and started to note something down on the clipboard, then stopped. A slow, sly smile spread across her face as she looked down at the white wolf who was now in hysterics. She then made a simple single with her finger. She drew a very small circle with it in the air a few times, then pointed down at the laughing wolf.
A shadow spread over Lupus. He looked up slowly from his laughing and his eyes widened in shock. He tried to scramble to his feet but was too slow. The large body of the triceratops came crashing down on top of him with a “SQUISH”, crushing his top half, then continued rolling, steamrollering Lupus under his colossal weight.
He reached the other side of the wolf and rolled back, making sure that he was as compact as possible, before getting to his feet and stepping back to present the freshly ironed wolf to the scientist.
This time it was Ruby’s turn to laugh, tears of mirth came to her eyes as she gazed over the flattened, spread-eagled wolf, then took out a pen and noted something down on her clipboard. She then turned to address the obviously pleased triceratops.
“Re-inflate him now, Rollie, it’s time for others to have a turn.”
The dino was disappointed, but followed the order, holding the flat wolf to his lips and blowing, restoring the wolf to his proper form, then stomped off into the bushes.
Lupus was angry now, but, he also realized, was now alone with his enemy. She seemed to realize this too and for a moment looked scared. She desperately blew into a whistle that hung round her neck, but no sound came out. He grinned, bared his fangs and prepared to leap, then in an instant, everything went dark.
~~~
The massive T-rex stood looking down at the human female that stood before it. He knew this one, and had got into trouble for trying to eat her, but hadn’t made the same mistake again.
She was smiling and trying to get her breath back. This made little sense to the T-rex, but it continued to stand there, looking puzzled, until the female addressed it.
“Rex, could you please lift up your right foot for me?”
The T-rex did so and Ruby ventured into the crater the large dino had made just by standing there, the foot held half a meter above her head. She gazed about the perfect footprint the T-rex had left in the hard soil, then walked to the centre and peeled a very flat, white shape of the soil. As she did so, the dino’s immense foot lowered until it was just above Ruby’s head. She paused.
“ If you even think about dropping that foot while I’m still under here Rex, I’ll have Anvilfoot on you in a flash.” She spoke the words authoritivly, but even so her voice trembled slightly, this was a big dino she was under.
Instantly the foot raised itself back up and past were it had previously been. Ruby sighed with relief and trudged back out of the footprint with the flattened wolf, then allowed the T-rex to drop its foot again.
She dumped the flattened wolf on the ground so that it could re-inflate, then addressed both wolf and dinosaur.
“Lucky I brought that dino whistle with me today or I could’ve been wolf meat.” she said, then she stopped to wipe the sweat from her brow, “Still, you would’ve regretted it afterwards, wolfie. I’ve got a lot of animal friends in this place. Now then, introduction time.” She pointed at the still puzzled looking T-rex, who was carefully checking its feet for any more crushed creatures. “This is Rex, our Tyrannosaurus, she was one of the first clones we did, but unfortunately she turned out a bit bigger than expected. She also has an insatiable appetite that we’ve been trying to cure for a while, but I think we’ve finally fixed it, if not” she shrugged “you’re dino food, wolf.”
The wolf had now fully re-inflated. Ruby motioned for the T-rex to pin him to the ground with one of her paws.
“Now,” Ruby continued, “I’m gonna leave you two alone for a while, and if the wolf hasn’t been digested by the time I get back, then we’ll now that she’s cured.” With that she sauntered off between the trees, leaving Lupus pinned under Rex’s foot.
As soon as she was out of sight, Lupus opened his mouth to try to talk to the monstrous beast. Before he could get a word in, Rex transferred all of her weight to one foot. Unfortunately it was the foot that the wolf was under.
With a crunch, the dino stomped down hard on top of Lupus, squishing him again under her paws. This time however, Rex started to grind the foot left and right, pulverizing the wolf’s body under her. She then jumped up with both feet and landed heavily on the wolf, shaking the surrounding landscape. The dino followed the jump with two others then started to grind the wolf with both feet, taking painstaking care to make sure Lupus couldn’t escape.
At last she stepped of the wolf and turned to survey the damage, but instead of the flattened wolf she had been expecting, there was only a thick white puddle with two eyes and a nose floating in it. She had squashed the wolf to a pulp!
As she stood looking at her efforts, Ruby returned. She gazed down at the crater and then at the white sludge that was Lupus, and bit back a laugh.
“Ah, yes, I thought that might happen with enough weight and grinding. It’s just the new mixture I put into him. He’ll recover same as usual though... I hope. Still, at least he’s not Rex chow.”
As they both watched, the white paste slowly drifted into a vaguely wolf-like shape, then started to reform properly. After a while, a very dirty white wolf lay panting in the middle of the footprint, eyes wide with shock.
“Well, I suppose that’s enough tests for today-” Ruby started, but Rex was enthralled by the idea of the unlimited punishment that the wolf could take. She picked up the wolf in her jaws and threw him high into the air, only to stand back and watch as the wolf came plummeting to the ground with a splat. Then, against Ruby’s protests, she picked the wolf up and threw him up again.
This time as he started to descend, she turned around and using her tail as a club, hit the wolf in mid-air. Lupus went flying through the trees like a baseball, eyes clenched tight in fear, before striking something solid with enough force to turn his body to pulp.
~~~
The siesmosaurus turned her head when she felt something crash into her rear. She swallowed the massive mouthful of leaves she had and stretched her neck back to look at her rump. In the middle of her immense behind was a small white patch. As she looked, two eyes in the middle of the goo swiveled up to look at her.
Her eyes narrowed at the slowly reforming creature on her butt. Suddenly Ruby, who was tiny compared to the seisomosaurus that Lupus was stuck to, ran into the clearing they were in. she paused and gazed up at the enormous being, then shook her head sadly.
“Sorry wolfie, you’ve just met Anvilfoot. The largest dino we’ve got in here. She’s a seismosaur, a relative to the brontosaurus, but much bigger. Normally they only grow up to about eighty tons, but she’s something of a freak. She doesn’t obey anyone, so I don’t think I can get her to give you back, especially since you hit her. I’m sorry Lupus, your just gonna have to last until she gets bored of you.”
She shook her head again and wandered off back into the trees as Lupus finally returned to normal. His claws instantly dug into the thick leather of Anvilfoot’s rump and the seismosaur growled.
“You’re annoying me, bug.” She said, irritation dripping off every word. “So I’m going to sit down, and you can either jump off onto the hard rock beneath or slowly be squished under my entire weight.”
With that the seismosaur turned her long neck back to grab another mouthful of leaves, and slowly began sitting down.
The wolf desperately tried to pull his claws out of the thick hide, but they were stuck fast. He tugged frantically as the beast got closer to the rock and managed to get one paw free.
The seismosaur gave no inclination that she had felt his efforts and started to bend her knees as her large, tough rear grew closer to the large, flat rock that she had obviously chosen as a seat.
The wolf continued to try to extract his claws. He had two paws free now but was still badly stuck, as the designated seat was only a few meters away. With one final wrench he managed to pull a third paw free, allowing gravity to pull his last set of claws away from the seismosaur. He fell onto the rock with a thump that jarred most of his bones and then stood and howled in triumph.
It was cut short when he felt the massive creature’s behind crush his tail. He yelped in fear and tried to scramble away, but was pinned. Slowly the seismosaur rolled her rump over him slowly. His back legs were caught under the beast next and squashed flat, followed by his hindquarters and then his lower back.
Anvilfoot stopped there for a moment, taking time to become comfortable by grinding her butt on top of Lupus, causing him to whimper in pain, then continued to sit down, her rear next crushing the wolfs upper back and front paws, which were spread out on either side of the wolf, and then stopping with just the wolf’s head sticking out from underneath her.
“You belong to me now, bug.” She said “until I grow bored with you. But in that time I’m sure I can find at least one hundred uses for a malleable wolf. I’ve got one already: seat cushion.”
The wolf howled with horror as the seismosaur fully sat down, squashing him to paste beneath her. She then ground her but back and forth a bit, making an amusing and satisfying squishing sound, then bit off another mouthful of leaves from a nearby tree and thought to herself: I’ve always wanted to lie down on a wolf-skin rug.
Her laughter boomed out over the rest off the evening, complemented by the whimpering of a very squashed wolf.
Part 3 is finished and Lupus is going to be out of action for a while. Time for some new characters methinks ;)
I've already got at least one character lined up thanks to Squishjunkie but any ideas for characters would be welcome from anyone.
This time the Pun was 'borrowed' from a Tom & Jerry episode. Sorry guys, I'm all out of ideas for witticisms.
